Learni Cat Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the Learni Cat Android app and website (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and the Learni Cat Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.
1. The Service and AI Outputs
Learni Cat is an AI learning service designed primarily for students. It offers study-support features such as class recording and transcription, AI Q&A, note organization, material management and retrieval, practice generation, and grading. Features may change as the product evolves.
AI-generated transcripts, summaries, notes, answers, questions, and grading may be inaccurate, incomplete, or biased. They are for study reference only and are not professional or academic advice, a teacher’s assessment, or legal, medical or financial advice. Check important information independently and do not rely on AI output as your only source.
2. Accounts and Age
The Service is intended for users 14 and older. Users under 18 must use it with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
You must provide accurate registration information and protect your sign-in credentials. Except as permitted by law or with our written consent, your account is for your personal use. You are responsible for activity under it. Contact us promptly if you discover unauthorized access.
You may request account deletion in the app under Me → Account & Security → Delete Account. There is a 7-day revocable period; under the current authentication flow, account use after an initial 30-minute safeguard and before the deadline cancels the request. After it expires, we process deletion of account data as described in the Privacy Policy. Limited security-audit, transaction-dispute, or legally required records, and data held by third-party providers, may be retained as described in that Policy.
You can also request deletion at Delete account after signing in and verifying your account email and password. Current subscriptions do not renew automatically. Account deletion does not itself request a payment refund.
3. Acceptable Use and Class Recording
You must comply with laws applicable to you, these Terms, and your school’s or institution’s academic-integrity rules. You must not use the Service for unlawful conduct, infringe others’ intellectual-property, privacy or other rights, cheat in exams or assignments, or upload, generate or distribute content prohibited by law.
Without our prior written authorization, you must not:
- Make Learni Cat APIs, model-calling capabilities or account quotas available to third parties through a reverse proxy, relay gateway, API wrapper, mirror site or other arrangement; sell, rent or resell those capabilities; or use them as the backend of a third-party product.
- Lend, share, buy, sell or collect accounts, sign-in tokens, sessions, verification codes, API keys or other access credentials, or help others access the Service without authorization.
- Evade billing, quotas, rate limits, permission checks, content-safety controls or account restrictions through bulk registration, account rotation, disguised request origins or other methods.
- Scrape non-public data, probe or exploit vulnerabilities, interfere with or attack the Service or third-party systems, distribute malware, commit fraud, steal computing capacity or otherwise abuse resources.
You must not reverse engineer the Service except where applicable law permits it. The reverse-proxy restriction concerns unauthorized provision of Learni Cat capabilities to others. Ordinary use of a network proxy, VPN or local network configuration for your own lawful access is not, by itself, a violation; it must not be used to evade these restrictions.
You are responsible for files, text, images, recordings, and other materials you upload or import. You must have the rights and permissions needed to process them. Class recordings may capture teachers, classmates, or other people. Before recording, you must obtain the consent required by applicable law and school or institutional rules, and follow those rules for recording, uploading, storing, and sharing.
4. Your Content
As between you and us, you or the original rights holder retain rights in content you submit or generate for your own use. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process it only as needed to operate the Service—for example, to store and sync it, build retrieval indexes, send it to an AI provider you request, maintain security, and troubleshoot failures.
Keep your own copies of important content. Do not submit material you are not authorized to process or do not want handled by the applicable provider. We do not sell your study content or use it for cross-context targeted advertising.
5. Purchases, Credits, and Refunds
Some features consume credits. Credits are virtual units within the Service, not cash, deposits, or transferable property. Credit packs expire only when the store displays an expiration period before purchase; otherwise, purchased credits do not expire. Subscription credits expire after the configured credit-validity period and never later than the subscription period end.
Purchases are processed by the provider shown at checkout, which may be Dodo Payments or PayPal depending on channel availability. A subscription purchase buys one 30-day period and does not automatically renew. The store displays purchase eligibility and upgrade rules; a duplicate purchase of the same active plan does not extend its period. Review the price, credits, currency, and validity shown before purchase. The selected provider’s terms and privacy policy also apply.
Refund requests, duplicate charges, non-delivery, technical failures and cancellation are covered by our Refund Policy. Contact support@learnicat.com with your order details. Monetary refunds are processed through the original payment provider; correction of a credit balance is a separate remedy. Available products and payment methods are shown on the Pricing page and in the order dialog. TEST transactions do not grant production access. Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable consumer rights.
6. Third-Party Services and Data Location
The Service relies on cloud hosting in Singapore, self-hosted Logto authentication on Learni Cat infrastructure, AI providers selected by active server configuration, the payment provider selected at checkout (Dodo Payments or PayPal when available), and the email delivery service enabled by the deployment. Core Service data is stored in Singapore. When you use AI, payment, or email features, information may be processed in the United States or other regions. 7. Intellectual Property and Notices
The Learni Cat software, interface, brand, and related materials belong to us or our licensors. You may not use our trademarks or brand features without permission.
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email support@learnicat.com with the protected work, the allegedly infringing content and its location, your contact information, and the basis for your complaint. We will review it and take action as required or permitted by applicable law. This contact channel does not represent that we have designated or registered a DMCA agent.
8. Changes, Enforcement, and Termination
We may update features or suspend parts of the Service to protect security. Where reasonably practical and required by applicable law, we will give advance notice of material adverse changes.
Where there are reasonable grounds to believe an account or related requests violate these Terms or applicable law, we may take proportionate measures based on the nature, severity, impact, recurrence and correction of the conduct. Measures may include a reminder or warning, rejecting or rate-limiting requests, stopping abusive tasks, restricting features, temporarily suspending an account, or permanently banning an account and terminating access for serious or repeated violations. Unauthorized provision of API capabilities to others through a reverse proxy or similar arrangement, credential theft, billing evasion or attacks on the Service may constitute serious violations. You must not create or borrow other accounts to bypass restrictions.
We may impose necessary restrictions immediately for ongoing attacks, fraud, significant data or personal-safety risks, legal requirements, or risks of evidence being destroyed. Unless notice is legally prohibited or would compromise security or a similar legitimate response, we will use available account contact channels to explain the main reason, scope and appeal method. Where reasonably practical, we will allow an opportunity to correct remediable violations.
If you believe a restriction is mistaken, email support@learnicat.com with your account identifier, relevant notice or request number, and an explanation to request human review. Do not send passwords, verification codes, sign-in tokens or API keys. We will investigate and inform you of the outcome; confirmed mistakes will result in restrictions being removed or adjusted. Where doing so would not compromise security or violate law, you may still use this email to request refunds, exercise privacy rights or request a copy of content you are entitled to receive.
A restriction is not automatically account deletion and does not, by itself, forfeit purchased credits, cancel valid refund requests or release us from applicable data-protection obligations. Services actually supplied and lawfully incurred charges are settled under the agreed terms; refunds and other remedies follow the Refund Policy and applicable law. Information used for enforcement is handled on a minimum-necessary basis under the Privacy Policy. We disclose necessary information to competent authorities only where legally required or permitted.
If we discontinue a paid service or cannot deliver it, the Refund Policy and your statutory rights apply. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion.
9. Disclaimers and Limits of Liability
The Service is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted, or error-free operation, or that AI output will be accurate, complete, or suitable for a particular purpose. We will take reasonable steps to address interruptions caused by events outside our control, such as network, power, or third-party service failures, but cannot prevent every loss.
To the maximum extent allowed by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or your non-waivable consumer rights.
Events beyond reasonable control (force majeure)
To the extent permitted by applicable law, neither you nor we are responsible for a delay or failure to perform an obligation only to the extent and for the time that it is directly caused by an event beyond the affected party's reasonable control and could not reasonably have been prevented or overcome. Examples may include earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, severe storms, fire, epidemics, war, terrorism, lawful government restrictions, widespread electricity or telecommunications outages, and exceptionally disruptive cyberattacks. A third-party outage qualifies only if it meets this same test; ordinary technical defects, lack of funds, routine maintenance, or a preventable security failure do not automatically qualify.
The affected party must take reasonable steps to limit the impact and resume performance promptly. Where reasonably practicable and lawful, we will inform affected users of a material interruption and available recovery steps. You should keep separate copies of important learning materials; this recommendation does not remove our contractual or legal responsibilities.
This clause does not excuse fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or failure to meet security or data-protection duties that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. It does not permit us to treat an unverified payment as successful, charge again for the same completed purchase, or remove credits merely because an interruption occurred. Accrued payment obligations, valid refund claims, and non-waivable consumer and privacy rights remain governed by applicable law and our Refund Policy. If a paid service cannot be delivered or is discontinued, contact support@learnicat.com for the remedies available under that Policy and applicable law.
10. Disputes and Changes to These Terms
If you have a dispute, contact us first using the details below so we can try to resolve it. A dispute will be handled by a court with jurisdiction under applicable law. These Terms do not designate a particular state’s law or require you to waive rights to bring a claim, participate in a class proceeding, or exercise consumer protections where those rights cannot be waived.
We may revise these Terms and publish the new version and effective date in the app or on the website. We will provide advance notice when applicable law requires it. When a new version requires renewed consent, you must review and expressly accept it before continuing to use account features. If you disagree, stop using the Service and request account deletion if desired.
